Italy Salary Calculator
Enter your gross annual salary to see your net pay after IRPEF income tax and employee INPS contributions. Results are for a single employee on a standard private-sector permanent contract, using the 2026 national IRPEF scale and employment tax credits.
Worked example: €30,000 salary
Employee INPS is 9.19% of €30,000, which is €2,757.00, leaving taxable income of €27,243.00. IRPEF at 23% on that amount is €6,265.89. The employment credit is €2,044.29 and the additional credit is €1,000.00, so IRPEF due is €3,221.60. Take-home pay is €30,000 - €2,757.00 - €3,221.60 = €24,021.40 a year, or €2,001.78 a month over 12 payments.
This example is checked against a hand-calculated test in our code. It assumes a single employee with no dependants.
How we calculate this
IRPEF is 23% up to €28,000, 33% from €28,000 to €50,000 and 43% above that. Employee INPS is 9.19% of gross pay up to a ceiling of €122,295, plus an extra 1% on pay above €56,224. Taxable income is gross pay minus INPS. Employment tax credits are then subtracted from the IRPEF, with an additional credit for incomes between €20,000 and €40,000. Two items are provisional because we could not confirm them on an official page: the tax-free payment for incomes up to €20,000 and the €1,200 bonus for incomes up to €15,000. The 9.19% INPS rate is also provisional.
It is an estimate. It does not model regional or municipal surcharges, family tax credits, pension relief, pre-1996 contracts or 13th and 14th month payments. Amounts you enter as pension or pre-tax contributions only reduce take-home pay here.
