Paycheck and Salary Calculators by Country

Pick your country to see your take-home pay. Each calculator turns a gross salary into net pay after income tax, social security and the other payroll deductions that apply where you work, and every figure comes with the source behind it. There are 18 countries to choose from, from the USA and Canada to the UK, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

North America

Federal, state and provincial taxes, plus the payroll contributions that come out of every paycheck.

Europe

Gross-to-net salary calculators that follow each country's own income tax and social security rules.

Asia-Pacific

Take-home pay for Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan.

What every calculator shows you

Enter your gross income and pay frequency and you get your net salary, your after-tax income per year, month and pay period, and a line-by-line ledger of every deduction. Where tax depends on where you live, such as US states, Canadian provinces or Scotland, you choose that too. You can also download the result as a PDF.

Frequently asked questions

What is a paycheck or salary calculator?

It converts your gross pay into net take-home pay by subtracting income tax, social security and the other mandatory payroll deductions that apply in your country, and it shows each deduction as its own line.

Which countries do these calculators cover?

18 countries are covered: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan. Each country has its own page built on that country's rules.

Where do the tax rates and thresholds come from?

Each line of a result cites the rule behind it, and the full register of sources is published on the sources page. The methodology page explains how the figures are combined.

Can I see my pay per month, not just per year?

Yes. You can enter your pay on different frequencies, such as annual or monthly, and the results are converted across pay periods.

Is this tax advice?

No. Results are estimates for a typical employee under standard assumptions. Real payroll can differ because of benefits, allowances, local taxes and how your employer runs payroll, so confirm important decisions with your payroll provider or a tax professional.

Are the calculators free, and is my salary saved?

They are free to use. The figures you enter are used to run the calculation and are not stored.
